LaSalle Network has partnered with a mission-driven organization dedicated to providing support to youth and family services throughout Chicagoland. They are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant with 3-5 years of experience to join their dynamic team. This role is crucial in ensuring the financial health and integrity of our client’s organization as they continue to expand their impact.

Staff Accountant Responsibilities:

• Maintain and manage all aspects of general ledger accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations and month-end closings
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy, compliance and alignment with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and non-profit accounting standards
• Assist in budget preparation, monitoring and variance analysis for various programs and departments
• Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate payments and receipts
• Manage and maintain grant accounting records, including tracking of expenditures and reporting requirements
• Support the development and implementation of internal controls and financial policies to ensure organizational efficiency and compliance
• Collaborate with program managers and other departments to provide financial insights and support for decision-making
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Finance Manager or CFO

Staff Accountant Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• 3+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within a non-profit organization
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and non-profit accounting standards (including fund accounting)
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, Blackbaud) and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
