Job Description
The Payroll Analyst/Payroll Lead is responsible for overseeing and executing payroll functions to ensure timely and accurate payment to associates. This role involves leading a team, managing payroll processes, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and providing strategic insights to improve payroll operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of payroll practices, and the ability to handle complex payroll issues with efficiency and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Lead and manage the payroll team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient and accurate payroll processing.
+ Oversee and coordinate all aspects of payroll processing, including data entry, time and attendance tracking, and payroll adjustments.
+ Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices. Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll for all associates, including salary, bonuses, benefits, taxes, RSUs and other deductions.
+ Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
+ Conduct regular audits of payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
+ Prepare and distribute payroll reports for internal and external stakeholders.
+ Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to ensure seamless payroll operations and integration.
+ Respond to and resolve complex payroll-related inquiries and issues from associates and management.
+ Assist in the preparation and distribution of annual W-2 forms and other year-end reporting requirements.
+ Participate in payroll system upgrades, testing, and troubleshooting, and recommend improvements as needed.
+ Monitor and analyze payroll metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
+ Support the Payroll Manager in various payroll projects and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
+ 5-7 years of experience in payroll processing, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership role.
+ Strong understanding of payroll practices, laws, and regulations.
+ High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
+ Extensive experience with ADP, eTime and Workday.
+ Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
+ Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
+ Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
