Job Duties and Responsibilities of the Purchasing Manager include:
Leading tactical and strategic purchasing activities
Negotiating with current and new suppliers to improve cost, processes and quality
Developing and implementing strategies to direct suppliers to achieve cost reduction targets
Establish departments goals, KPIs and lead team to meet these targets
Evaluating and ensuring suppliers are achieve quality standards and requirements
Partnering with all levels of manufacturing to ensure supply chain expectations are being achieved
Developing and present supply chain reports to executive management team
Estimating cost for new business development Issuing and evaluating RFQs
Ensuring proper data is entered into ERP system
 
Requirements for the Purchasing Manager include:
A four-year degree. Industry certifications are a plus
Proven success and experience leading a sourcing -purchasing department for a high-volume manufacturing company
Proven experience successfully identifying new suppliers and strategic negotiations
Excellent communication skills
Ability to use ERP system to create and present reports
