Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a Primary Care Physician to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/North Central Bronx . North Central Bronx is a community hospital dedicated to serving the health needs of all New Yorkers. Since opening in 1976, North Central Bronx has offered outstanding care for women’s health services, as well as primary care, pediatrics, and specialty ambulatory services. The hospital maintains an academic affiliation with Albert Einstein College of Medicine

Opportunity Details:

  • The Primary Care Physician trains and supervises medical trainees, students, and mid-level providers in the scope of adult ambulatory services 
  • Participate in peer review, quality assurance, department and division meetings, and faculty development sessions.
  • This is a full-time position - flexible 40 hours per week, which includes evenings and weekends (off hours coverage is on a rotating basis).
  • Medical evaluation of patients including history, physical examination, diagnostic testing, treatment plan, counseling, and referrals based on standards of care and EBM, for effective longitudinal, continuity and episodic care across the lifespan.
  • Complete, reflective and timely documentation in the EMR.
  • Prescription of medication and DME in accordance with New York State statutes.
  • Review and sign off laboratory/study results with timely follow-up.
  • Adherence to access, flow, productivity and quality standards.
  • Participate in process improvement for access, quality, flow, patient experience, risk reduction, and financial viability in alignment with the goals of health and hospitals.
  • Participate in developing/revising programs, policies and protocols for patient care aligned with patient centered medical home.
  • Develop capabilities for clinical research and scholarly activity. Involvement in 1-2 scholarly research projects per year.
  • Special projects as identified.

Qualifications

  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Internal Medicine.
  • Maintenance of affiliations with academic and professional organizations.

Wages and Benefits include:

Annual Base Salary: $224,000* (board eligible); $229,000* (board certified) based on 40-hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.

The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $341,920** (board eligible) and $347,420** (board certified) , which includes the baseline salary, 401 (k) contribution, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below:

  • Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $55,520.
  • Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year’s average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.
  • 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):
    • Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
    • After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
  • Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement.
  • Generous Annual Paid Time Off (PTO): Vacation, Sick, Holiday, and CME days.
  • Medical, Prescription, and Dental Coverage: Top-tier plans with employee contributions significantly below market rates.
  • Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Coverage: Equal to 2x your salary (up to a maximum of $300,000) provided at no cost to you.
    • Additional employee-paid Voluntary Life and AD&D coverage is available for you and your family.
  • Loan Forgiveness: Position may be eligible for loan forgiveness through certain state or federal programs.
  • Medical Malpractice Coverage (equivalent to occurrence-based): Provided at no cost to the employee.
  • Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs).
  • Pre-tax employee-paid contributions for commuting expenses.
  • Visa sponsorship will be considered for this position.
