POSITION SUMMARY:
STATUS: Exempt, 30-hours/week, benefits eligible
The Human Resources Director will play a critical role in driving initiatives that align with our organizational goals. This position involves collaborating with leadership to enhance employee engagement and manage the operational HR needs of a small but growing national nonprofit. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in HR management and a proven track record of implementing HR best practices. As a one-person department, this individual will both lead and implement HR for the organization. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
HR Leadership. Provide strategic direction for HR programs and initiatives. Partner with senior leadership to align HR strategies with the organization’s objectives.
Talent Acquisition and Management. Oversee the recruitment process, from job postings to candidate selection and on-boarding. Develop and implement talent acquisition strategies that attract top talent.
Employee Relations. Foster a positive work environment through effective employee relations strategies, promoting a culture of open communication.
Performance Management. Implement performance management systems that promote employee development and accountability. Train management on effective performance appraisal techniques and feedback mechanisms.
Compensation and Benefits. In partnership with the organization’s PEO, process bi-weekly payroll and oversee benefits programs to ensure participant understanding.
Training and Development. Assess training needs and coordinate professional development programs, including oversight of Emerging Leader program. Ensure that required trainings (i.e. Harassment Prevention, Conflict of Interest, etc.) are delivered annually.
Internal Communications. Manage internal staff communications, All staff retreat, on-going staff recognition.
