The Digital Manufacturing Systems (DMS) team at Ford is building the digital factory of the future-a software-defined manufacturing ecosystem that integrates process, product, and production to empower operators and engineers like never before. Our goal is simple: make the operator's life better while building safer, smarter, and more efficient plants worldwide. **In this position...** As a part of this team you will be involved in: + Building **next-generation manufacturing platforms** that reduce defects, boost throughput, and enhance safety across Ford's global factories. + Design and develop **high-performance applications and services** for real-time factory orchestration and diagnostics. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams-embedded systems, hardware engineers, and data scientists-to bring the digital twin of Ford's factory to life. + Contribute to **real-time insight generation** that allows operators and machines to make proactive decisions. + Participate in developing **Ford's first in-house diagnostics platform** for real-time assembly insights. **What you'll do...** + Design, implement, and maintain scalable web applications and backend services for the factory + Contribute to the full software development lifecycle: ideation, design, coding, testing, deployment, and support + Own significant parts of the tech stack and lead the implementation of key features + Troubleshoot production issues and proactively improve system robustness + Mentor entry-level engineers and provide technical feedback through code reviews + Help define technical direction and evaluate new technologies or patterns + Write clean, testable, and maintainable code in line with industry best practices **You'll have...** + Bachelor's degree in Computer Science & Engineering, similar or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. + 2+ years of experience building full-stack applications in production environments, with proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and backend frameworks including Next.js, Node.js, Python, or Go + 6+ months experience with database systems (SQL, NoSQL) and API design (REST/GraphQL) + 6+ months experience deploying and maintaining applications in cloud-native environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) + 6+ months experience working with DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, etc.) **Even better, you may have...** + Exposure to real-time systems or manufacturing data workflows + Ability to collaborate effectively with product, design, hardware and project engineering teams You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!
