Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team on a contract basis in Mountain View, California. This hybrid position requires onsite work 2-3 days per week and offers a unique opportunity for hands-on experience in finance and administrative tasks. Ideal for candidates pursuing or holding a degree in accounting or finance, this role provides exposure to structured operations and processes. Responsibilities: - Process and organize incoming physical mail related to finance and accounting, ensuring accurate distribution to relevant teams. - Perform basic data entry and field mapping tasks using Microsoft Excel to support larger data-related projects. - Conduct research and analysis to review expense report submissions and ensure compliance with company policies. - Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring accuracy and timely completion. - Maintain organized records of physical and digital documents, ensuring accessibility and security. - Provide ad hoc support to finance, tax, payroll, and benefits teams as needed. - Collaborate with team members to complete simple analyses and administrative tasks. - Help streamline organizational processes by effectively managing multiple priorities and deadlines. - Support the preparation of reports and documentation for financial operations. Requirements - Currently enrolled in or holding a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including basic data entry and field mapping capabilities. - Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing both physical and digital files. - Ability to conduct research and synthesize straightforward analyses. - Effective time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines. - Availability to work onsite 2-3 days per week in Mountain View, California. - Familiarity with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes. - Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
